Car rental firms across Europe are getting booked up quickly this year, suggesting the importance of sorting out travel arrangements prior to any trip abroad.

Reasons given for the shortage of car hire services include the economic crisis, which has restricted the number of cars companies can include in their fleets, and the fact some firms are letting staff go.
