Ah General Motors, you aging giant, don’t let that bankruptcy stop you. In aid of its revitalization plan and trying to claw its way out of bankruptcy, the car and vans conglomerate is giving consideration to a change of its big and blue timeless logo.

Thos who have an ear inside GM say that the company sis considering scrapping its old color and going for a stark green in the hopes that it will convince consumers that its new policies toward car manufacture has a new eco-conscious mentality, and will go above and beyond when it comes to making vehicles that contribute as little to climate change as possible.
Although change from blue to green is not set in stone, it does happen, it will be the first major change in their logo since the mid-1960s. With the amount of problems GM is facing, some thing a rebranding is the last thing they should be concerned about.
Even after tens of thousands of jobs cut from the GM ranks of various plants and retailers, it still doesn’t end, up to Four-thousand white-collar jobs are expected soon, including around 450 executive-level positions. The majority of these job cuts are expected to come from the departure of brands such as Hummer and Saturn, as well as the closure of 14 manufacturing facilities. This is also coupled with the plan to cut their workforce by a further 21 percent.
GM CEO Fritz Henderson is also keen to eliminate much of the corporate bureaucracy that strangled “old” GM, and the company’s new executive structure will be much more streamlined and less committee-heavy.
It will be difficult to wipe away GM’s old image and establish itself with new smaller more economical cars to eventually yield a return to profitability. Many companies much smaller and smarter then GM already ahve a foothold with encouraging electric and eco cars in car rental and car hire agencies as well as retailers. But GM are assuring that the waste and greed of its past is well and truly behind it, the New GM may well deliver.
