Reports issues earlier this week by the Hutchison Whampoa indicate a massive gain for the 3 Mobile Group, which states that it user base sky-rocket with a 170 per cent increase in mobile broadband and pay as you go mobile broadband consumers for just the first six months of 2009.
If the report is completely accurate, this would mean that 3 mobile now has an impressive 3.8 million mobile broadband subscribers.
Three Mobile has faired extremely well through the economic slump, noting that the reports also show a two per cent rise in revenue during the first half of 2009.
In a statement, Hutchison Whampoa said: “Although ARPU (average revenue per active user) declined in local currencies, total revenue overall increased three per cent from the comparable period last year.”
