In a recent report by the European Union Digital Competitiveness, had reveled that only half of all households across the EU have access via landlines or mobile broadband internet means. More specifically, the survayed showed that one-third of those claimed they did not have a need for any sort of contractual broadband or pay as you go mobile broadband services, however one in four said the primary reason for that is they believe the cost of broadband is too high.
Interestingly, the study went on to say that 56 per cent of the survey takers did regularly use broadband, which represents a massive spiked increase of one-third since a similar survey was taken in 2004, and that 70 per cent of people under the age of 24 use broadband services daily.
“To release the economic potential of these ‘digital natives’, we must make access to digital content an easy and fair game,” she remarked.
