It seems that people love the current deals when it comes to laptops packaged with the best mobile broadband, as Wireless broadband connectivity is transforming the market as its so cheap and readily available for plug and play type consumers.
IT specialist Techworld, did a study that show the broadband market is benefiting from the technology that allows laptop users to browse the internet at home or on the move. It seems that Wi-Fi has been a slow starter but is now reaching critical mass.
“After going nowhere for years and years, Wi-Fi took off about five years ago as speeds improved and prices plummeted. “It’s a winner because it’s mature, cheap, and is used by PCs the world over. It has transformed the home networking market.”
Mr Dunn suggested that part of the reason for the success of the technology is that it presented a viable alternative to mobile broadband for connecting laptops and pay as you go mobile broadband devices to the internet at a time when 3G speeds were a limiting factor on performance.
His comments came as ABI Research reported that one billion Wi-Fi chipsets will be shipped around the world in 2011, suggesting that a growing number of portable devices will offer users the chance to take advantage of wireless broadband in the future.
