Statistics show that mobile broadband subscribers are set reach one billion globally by 2013, Research by Infonetics in its new paper Best Mobile Broadband Cards, Routers, Services and Subscribers claims the number of people using mobile broadband in 2008 jumped by 125 per cent compared to figures for the previous year.
The firm has predicted that sales of mobile broadband and pay as you go mobile broadband dongles will “continue gathering momentum” throughout 2009.
Richard Webb, directing analyst of Infonetics Research, said companies have “finally started to deliver on the promise of high-speed” mobile broadband.
“Growth in the number of mobile broadband subscribers hit triple-digit percents in all the major world regions in 2008, indicating a booming market,” he added.
