According to a major new report, the amount of mobile broadband accounts across the UK is set to surpass that of fixed line alternatives by as soon as 2011.
The report issued by the research institute ‘mobileSQUARED’ has confidently predicted that with the advent of upcoming technology like the Windows live messenger mobile and skype mobile, up to 42.7 million mobile broadband connections will be active within the next two years.
Nick Lane, Chief Analyst of mobileSQUARED has suggested there are several factors as to why mobile broadband services are set to become more popular.
“Mobile broadband is taking over pay as you go phones. They are always-on, and the average user carries their device for an average of 16 hours a day. So if a company or brand is not already considering how to use mobile, then they need to because their customers are,” he explained.
The European Union recently suggested that other nations across the continent begin to use thee same part of the radio spectrum to broadcast mobile broadband services as the UK.
