July 6, 2021 by Penny Leave a Comment

When you move into a new home, you will likely want to redecorate and make it your own. Whether or not you are an interior expert, you might want your decorating to be as quick and easy as possible. You will likely decorate before you move in to save getting marks and stains on your furniture. Thus, here are some tips to transform your new home.

Embrace tiling

Tiling is an effective way to decorate your new home in a unique way. Tiling can be used in any room of the house and offers longer-lasting results than paint.

You could use a tiling company will to help you attain the best results and help bring your vision to life. You could add fun tiling if you like to embrace colour or simple tiles for a clean and classic look.

Upcycle your current furniture

If you have current furniture that you want to get rid of because you are bored of its colour or design, you can upcycle it. You will save money and time as you won’t need to source new products.

Upcycling furniture could involve:

  • Painting
  • Staining
  • Replacing handles
  • Repurposing the furniture for something else (the wood from a chair could make a coffee table)

Display your photos in a different way

You may want to take your current artwork and photos to your new home but make them appear different to reinspire you. If you have previously had the photos on the wall, then you could prop them up on cabinets instead. It will add a new dimension to the new rooms as well as give your artwork a purpose.

If you like to hang photos on the walls but want to decorate in a different way to your old home, you could change the photos or repurpose them. A simple tweak can make a huge difference to the look of your interior.

Update the staircase

A quirky home is often one with a quirky staircase. There are so many design ideas to revamp and update a staircase.

You could strip away the carpet and stain or paint the wood. You could even add drawers under each step and use them for storage.

To upgrade the interior and make it feel and appear more luxury, you could add a stairway carpet runner. This will elevate the interior of your home and make it look like a fancy hotel.

Take advantage of wooden floors

When you decorate your new home, you will likely want to update the flooring. If there are carpets, you should always check underneath to see what lies there. If it is wood, then great. You can bring the wood back to life and use them as floorboards to give a natural feel.

If you know that there are already wooden floors there, you could update them by staining them and changing there colour. Staining wooden floors is the best option to change their tone and preserve them.
